Bubble: AiR Festival 2005

The AiR festival in 2005 saw a variety of spectacles brought to Redditch but probably the most unusual was a commission with Simon Desorgher of Soundscape with generous financial support from Arts Council England. A 37 foot inflated "bubble" with Simon suspended in the middle playing his new music work on the flute based on the theme of the four elements including of course "AiR". The opportunity was too good to miss! Quite extraordinary it was to, with 8,000 in the park that day to enjoy it. Enjoy the photos of the rehearsal and the final spectacle itself.

That's not all that happened. On the same day and throughout the weekend over 3000 people visited an extraordinary exhibition presented by Nottingham based Architects of AiR. Visitors of all ages explored the 1000 square metre glowing interior of huge domes and towers of Middle Eastern influence.
